Ghanaian singer, rapper, and fashion model Black Sherif has set a new benchmark in African music with his second studio album, IRON BOY, surpassing 100 million streams on Audiomack. This historic feat makes him the only Ghanaian artiste with two albums to hit that milestone on the platform. His 2022 debut, The Villain I Never Was, already boasts a staggering 519 million streams.

The achievement has been widely celebrated by fans online, especially noting IRON BOY‘s record-breaking 1.7 million streams on its first full day, marking the biggest debut for a Ghanaian project on Audiomack. Featuring Nigerian stars Fireboy DML and Seyi Vibez, the 15-track album blends hip-hop, Afrobeats, and Highlife, tackling themes of strength, pain, and resilience.

Lead single “So It Goes” with Fireboy DML and the introspective track “One”, which premiered on A COLORS SHOW, have both become fan favorites. The album peaked at No. 10 on Billboard’s US World Albums Chart and No. 5 on Nigeria’s Top 100 Albums, showcasing its global impact. Production credits go to Joker Nharnah and Lekaa Beats, whose sonic direction complements Sherif’s raw, emotive storytelling.

Fans and fellow musicians have hailed IRON BOY for its authenticity and sonic evolution. “Black Sherif isn’t just making music; he’s narrating a journey, one that speaks to struggle, survival, and soul,” a fan wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

This success comes off the back of Sherif’s previous Audiomack milestone, where he crossed 100 million streams across his entire discography in 2022, powered by hits like “Kwaku The Traveller”, which alone has 35 million streams. His 2025 North American and European tours have also fueled the album’s international reach.

With IRON BOY now sitting at 106 million streams, it has overtaken Olive The Boy’s ‘Avana EP’ (105 million) as the second-most streamed Ghanaian project on Audiomack, sparking conversations around the growing competition in Ghana’s streaming scene.

Black Sherif’s fusion of drill, soul, and Afrobeats, paired with introspective lyrics reflecting his rise from Konongo to global stages, continues to resonate widely. His recognition as Audiomack’s #UpNow artiste in 2022 and his 2023 milestone of 1 billion total streams across all platforms further cements his status as a trailblazer in Ghanaian and African music.

As the first Ghanaian to reach 100 million streams on Boomplay, IRON BOY only reinforces Black Sherif’s influence, proving that his voice is not just heard, but felt across borders and generations.
